PRESIDENTS KIIR AND MUSEVENI CONVENE TO DEEPEN BILATERAL TIES

<p >In Kampala, Uganda, where President Salva Kiir Mayardit engages in bilateral discussions with his Ugandan counterpart,  President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni,  on strengthening relations between the two sisterly nations. The discussions ahead of Tuesday’s inauguration of the incumbent president Museveni following his re-election victory, have covered political and economic cooperation, regional peace, and security, as well as ways to deepen partnership and mutual interests between Juba and Kampala.<o:p></o:p></p><p >The two leaders also reaffirmed their commitment to continued cooperation in key strategic areas, including joint border security efforts, road and railway infrastructure connecting the two countries, power connectivity, mutual support in regional and international platforms, and collaboration on regional peace and security initiatives. <o:p></o:p></p><p> </p><p >The meeting reflected the longstanding friendship, shared history, and continued cooperation between South Sudan and Uganda.<o:p></o:p></p>
