21 October, 2025-Tuesday The Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation (MWRI) has signed an output agreement with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) to implement vital flood management and climate resilience interventions in Bor Town, Jonglei State under the Regional Climate Resilience Program (RCRP) funded by the World Bank. This output agreement is worth USD 8.5 million initiative aims to reduce flood risks and strengthen community resilience through sustainable infrastructure and capacity building. Key project activities include: 1. Construction of a 10-kilometer primary dyke with gated culverts 2. Rehabilitation and expansion of 95 km of drainage channels 3. Stabilization and erosion control of critical road sections 4. Training of local engineers on flood preparedness and management This partnership underscores MWRI’s commitment to protecting vulnerable communities, improving water and sanitation infrastructure, and advancing climate-resilient development across South Sudan.
