ECONOMIC REFORMS COMMITTEE CONTINUES WORK AHEAD OF ANTICIPATED RECONSTITUTION

The Ministerial High-Level Committee on Economic Reforms says it will continue its work as it awaits reconstitution by President Salva Kiir Mayardit. The Committee’s Deputy Chairperson and Caretaker Minister of ICT and Postal Services, Ateny Wek Ateny, convened a briefing for members of the Secretariat, technical team and other committee officials on its current status. Speaking to the media, the Committee’s Acting Rapporteur and Director General of the National Bureau of Statistics, Dr. Augustino Ting Mayai, said the meeting focused on recent changes in government and the anticipated reconstitution of the committee.  Dr. Ting said the committee is awaiting the President’s approval for its reconstitution and subsequent continuation of its mandate. He assured the public that the Economic Reforms Committee remains operational and will continue providing regular updates on its work and the country’s economic reform agenda.
