The Council of Ministers, chaired by His Excellency President Salva Kiir Mayardit, has approved a number of resolutions, including amendments to the Elections Act 2012 to support the conduct of the forthcoming general elections.The amendments, presented by the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs Dr. Wek Mamer Kuol, provide an updated electoral framework for the elections and address key provisions necessary for the electoral process. The approved amendments will be submitted to the Transitional National Legislative Assembly for consideration and ratification before being presented to the President for assent.
