President Kiir Says Elections Are Inevitable, Urges NEC To Advance Voter Registration

President Salva Kiir Mayardit continues to urge the National Elections Commission to accelerate preparations for the December 22 polls, as the country moves closer to voter registration.The President reiterated his call while receiving a comprehensive briefing from NEC Chairperson Professor Abednego Akok Kachuol on the Commission’s nationwide assessment and preparations across the ten states and three administrative areas. President Kiir also directed authorities in Warrap and Western Bahr el Ghazal States to intensify joint efforts to resolve a long-running local boundary conflict between communities in the two states.
