The National Minister of Information, Communication Technology and Postal Services, Ateny Wek Ateny, is in Geneva, Switzerland, to represent South Sudan at the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) Forum 2026 and the AI Summit 2026. The global forum, co-convened by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and its partners, is bringing together government leaders, technology experts, and policymakers to discuss digital transformation, artificial intelligence, universal connectivity, and cybersecurity. Speaking upon his arrival, Minister Ateny says South Sudan’s participation reflects the country’s commitment to accelerating digital transformation and embracing emerging technologies to support national development.
