South Sudan has joined the global community to commemorate the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction, held under the theme "Resilience Starts at Home."
The annual observance serves as a vital platform to reflect on shared responsibilities and the pressing challenges confronting vulnerable communities, while reinforcing efforts to build long-term local resilience. In a News conference, the Caretaker Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Peter Mayen Majongdit, has emphasized that disaster risk reduction is a collective responsibility, underscoring the urgent need to boost public awareness and safeguard citizens from climate hazards and unexpected crises.
