The Ministry of General Education and Instructions, in collaboration with UNICEF, has conducted a three days’ programme on National Safety Guidelines for schools in the country, bringing together Education Director Generals from national and states levels to discuss strategies and safety measures to protect teachers and learners during academic days in schools. The Ministry’s Undersecretary Omot Okonyi Olok says the document is crucial in safeguarding the schools from human and natural threats, saying for a schools to be safe, measures like fencing, afforestation and medical facilities among others, are essential around school premises
