TWIC AND NGOK DINKA PEACE CONFERENCE BEGINS IN WAU

A four-day peace conference between the Twic and Ngok Dinka communities has commenced in Wau, Western Bahr el Ghazal State, with support from UNMISS, UNISFA, and Concordis International. Western Bahr el Ghazal Minister of Peacebuilding, Monica Louis Mawien, commends peace partners and urges chiefs to promote peaceful coexistence. Abyei Administrative Area Minister of Information, Youth, Culture and Sports, Yohana Akol Ngor, highlights the importance of the conference in advancing youth-led peace initiatives.  Warrap State Minister of Peacebuilding, Diom Deng Cyerdit, said the conference aims to restore peaceful relations. UNISFA representative, Alex Zanda, reaffirms support for peace initiatives in the region.

The conference is expected to strengthen dialogue and reconciliation between the two communities.
