Caretaker FM Adut Engages UNMISS Head On Coordination Of Peace Efforts

Shifting gears to diplomatic engagement, Caretaker Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Cecilia Adut Manyok begins her new role by holding diplomatic discussions with Anita Kiki, the UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative for South Sudan and Head of UNMISS, on strengthening cooperation between the Government of South Sudan and the United Nations. Their discussions covering election preparedness, political dialogue, humanitarian and funding challenges, and coordination between the Government and UNMISS. The two officials agree to maintain close engagement and hold a follow-up working meeting to identify key areas of cooperation ahead of the elections.
