Humanitarian Minister Meets Bentiu MPs Over Worsening Relief Crisis In The Area

The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Albino Akol Atak, has convened with the National Members of Parliament representing Unity State to discuss the worsening humanitarian situation affecting vulnerable communities across the state. The high-level meeting focused on the growing impact of drought, food insecurity, and displacement, with legislators seeking urgent government and humanitarian support to address the escalating crisis.

The lawmakers briefed the minister on the severity of the drought and its devastating effects on livelihoods, warning that many communities are facing increasing food shortages and humanitarian needs. Representatives of the parliamentary delegation expressed concern over the worsening food insecurity driven by prolonged drought and displacement, and called for swift humanitarian intervention to support affected populations.
