SOUTH SUDAN, UN ENVOY DISCUSS MEDIATION ROLE AND ABYEI STATUS AMID SUDAN CRISIS

<p >The Presidential Advisor on National Security Affairs, Tut Gatluak Manime, and the Special Envoy of the UN Secretary-General for the Horn of Africa, Guang Cong have discussed<b> </b>political, economic, and security situations in Sudan.<b> </b>The officials explored the possibility of South Sudan playing a mediatory role in restoring peace and stability amid the ongoing political turmoil in that country. Tut briefed the UN Special Envoy on the government’s commitment to addressing pressing political issues in the country and restoring durable peace and tranquility.
