South Sudan, IGAD Reaffirm Commitment To Regional Cooperation

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, James Pitia Morgan, has engaged in extensive discussions with the Special Envoy of the Inter-governmental Authority on Development to South Sudan, Moussa Djama Ali, which focused on the strong partnership between the Government and Intergovernmental Authority on Development. Both leaders expressed appreciation for the mutual support and cooperation extended to each other’s initiatives and engagements in recent months. Minister Morgan commended IGAD for its continued contribution to South Sudan’s peacebuilding and development efforts and reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with the regional bloc. Ambassador Moussa Djama Ali stated the authority’s preparations to report to Addis Ababa this weekend.

The meeting concluded with both sides reaffirming their shared commitment to promoting peace, stability, and regional cooperation across the IGAD region.
