TALKS ON DEEPENING ECONOMIC DIPLOMACY TO ENCOURAGE TRADE & INVESTMENT

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Dr. James Pitia Morgan, has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to promoting economic diplomacy and supporting initiatives aimed at attracting trade and investment to South Sudan. Minister Morgan made the remarks while receiving a courtesy visit from the Chairperson of the South Sudan National Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, Losidik Lukak Legge, in Juba. The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Chamber of Commerce, particularly in advancing South Sudan’s economic and trade interests on the international stage. During the meeting, Lukak briefed the Minister on the Chamber’s recent participation in a trade fair and business conference in St. Petersburg, Russia, where it represented South Sudan’s business community and explored opportunities for international partnerships and investment. The Chairperson also highlighted upcoming engagements aimed at attracting foreign investment and expanding economic cooperation with international partners. Lukak expressed appreciation for the Ministry’s continued support in facilitating the Chamber’s external engagements and promoting South Sudan’s economic diplomacy agenda.
