<p >In diplomatic engagements, Juba and Washington DC are seeking deeper cooperation in health sector.<b> </b>This comes in a meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Dr. James Pitia Morgan, and the US Ambassador to South Sudan, Michael J. Adler, which focused on bilateral relations and the country’s preparedness against Ebola whose cases continue to rise in Neighbouring Uganda and DRC.<o:p></o:p></p><p > </p><p > </p><p> </p><p ><b> </b>Ambassador Adler briefed Minister Morgan on the support being provided by the United States, particularly through the Ministry of Health, to help South Sudan strengthen its Ebola preparedness and response measures.<b> </b>Minister Morgan welcomed the engagement and expressed appreciation for the continued partnership between the two countries. The Foreign Affairs Minister reaffirmed that South Sudan remains free of Ebola and stressed the Government’s commitment to maintaining robust surveillance and preparedness mechanisms to prevent any outbreak.<b> </b>Dr. Morgan also raised concerns over the recent United States travel advisory, emphasizing that no Ebola cases have been reported in South Sudan.<b> <o:p></o:p></b></p>
