Vice President Igga Meets R-JMEC Delegation

The Vice President of the Republic and Chairperson of the Economic Cluster, H.E. Prof. James Wani Igga, met with a delegation from the Reconstituted Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission (R-JMEC) at his office in Juba today.The meeting focused on the implementation of the peace agreement and preparations for the upcoming free, fair, and democratic elections in South Sudan.During the meeting, H.E. Prof. Igga reaffirmed the Government of South Sudan’s commitment to implementing the peace process to pave the way for economic transformation and sustainable development.For his part, the Interim Chairperson of R-JMEC, Amb. Maj. Gen. George Aggrey, said the meeting discussed progress on the peace process and the role of R-JMEC in supporting it in the country.The meeting underscores the importance of the peace agreement and the December 2026 elections.
