A joint delegation comprising the National Ministry of Heath, World Health Organization and health authorities in Western Equatoria State has conducted an inspection of entry points in Gangura and Sakure. The move is part of intensified government preparedness following Ebola concern in neighboring Democratic Republic of Congo. Briefing the media, Western Equatoria State Minister of Health, James Abdallah Arona confirmed that the state has not recorded any suspected case of Ebola. He raised alarm over critical shortages of medical equipment, noting that health authorities are struggling with inadequate supplies to effectively respond to a potential outbreak.
